G. Scott Sparrow, EdD, LPC, LMFT, is a university professor, psychotherapist, spiritualmentor, fly fishing guide, and author. He received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, his M.A. in psychology from the Univ. West Georgia, and his doctorate in counseling from The College of William and Mary. His master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation focused on the phenomenon of “lucid dreaming,” or the experience of becoming aware that one is dreaming during the dream. In 1976, he wrote Lucid Dreaming — Dawning of the Clear Light. Based largely on his own experiences, it has been extensively cited and hailed as an early classic in this new field of dream theory.
