Why do we dream? Investigating whether dreams help us to process our emotions. An event by East London University
11 March 11:30 – 2:00
Why do we dream? Many theories exist to answer this question, but there is no one definitive answer. One popular theory is that dreams are like “overnight therapy” – they help us to process our emotions, so that we can cope with the emotional experiences that we have in our waking lives. In this talk, oneirologist (dream researcher) Dr Josie Malinowski, a lecturer in psychology at the University of East London, will present the research that supports this theory.
Doors open 11.30am
Talk starts 12.00pm
Finish no later than 2.00pm
Friday, 17 March 2017, 10:00am – 12:00pm
This lecture and workshop hosted outlines a method for creating art work from dreams by exploring and following the guidance offered by dreams. The approach also addresses creative blocks and the fear and anxiety that can accompany the creative process.
